Overview

The Cave of Blood is a cave on Mount Qasiyun, above Damascus. It is claimed that in it Adam's son killed his brother. 2

A place for rain prayers

Al-Umari reports that it was a place where rain was sought. Makhul went up to it with Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz to ask for rain. Mu'awiya and the Muslims went out to it, and they did not leave until the valleys flowed. In the caliphate of Hisham, the people of Damascus climbed to it and stayed three days in the cave beneath it, seeking rain. 2

The report that Adam's son killed his brother at this place is given as a claim. An additional source is needed.
