Overview

The River of Adi is a river at Basra. It was an inlet (khawr) of the river of Basra until Adi ibn Artat al-Fazari, governor of Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz, opened it up from the breach of Shirin, after its people complained and after a letter from Waki' ibn Abi Sawd. 1
