Overview
The Nizamiyya madrasa in Baghdad is a madrasa built by Nizam al-Mulk, vizier of Alp Arslan, and completed in 459 AH. 1
Abu Ishaq al-Shirazi was appointed to teach in it. Al-Suyuti relates that it was "the first madrasa built for jurists", introducing this with the form "it is said" (wa-qila), so the matter is attributed to a saying rather than stated as certain. 1
Al-Suyuti names Nizam al-Mulk as vizier. For an introduction to him, the museum has a page: Nizam al-Mulk. The madrasa stood in Baghdad.
