Overview
Qal'at Bani Sa'id is a fortress in al-Andalus, which was known earlier as the Fortress of Astalir. Al-Maqqari reports from al-Mallahi that it was known as the Fortress of Yahsib, and that a group from Yemen settled in it at the conquest of al-Andalus. In it al-Hajari composed the book "al-Musahhab" for its lord, Abd al-Malik ibn Sa'id, and it is the home of the house of Ibn Sa'id. 2
