A town of Isbahan's district; there lie the Graves of the Boon-Companions — three Kufans of al-Hajjaj's Daylam army who drank together, died one by one, each buried beside his friend, the last singing 'know you not that I am alone at Rawand'.

The graves of the boon companions

The book Futuh al-Buldan mentions that there are there the graves of three boon companions (nudama), who were from the people of Kufa and among those in al-Hajjaj's army sent to al-Daylam. They used to drink together, and they died one after another, and each was buried beside his companion. One of them recited a verse in which he says that he remained alone in Rawand. 1
