Overview

Siraf is a land on the coast of Fars. According to one report, its fort named Suryanj is the one from which Abd Muslim wrote a safe conduct to its people and threw it to them on an arrow, and Umar ordered it carried out. It is also said that the fort was Shahriyaj, according to al-Baladhuri. 1
