Overview
The Pass of al-Jarud is in Fars, between Jarra and Shiraz. Al-Jarud al-Abdi fell behind his companions there before dawn for a need, carrying a water-skin. A group of Kurds surrounded him and killed him, so the pass was named after him, according to al-Baladhuri. 1
