Wajah
وجاه
A Tabaristan fortress where Jurjan's marzban fortified against Yazid, ringed by thickets and jungle; seven months and mangonels availed nothing till an informer showed a path and hide-ladders carried Jahm ibn Zahr up — the captives were slaughtered in Wadi Jurjan till the blood ran.

Overview
Wajah is a fortress in Tabaristan. The marzban of Jurjan took refuge in it when they rebelled against Yazid ibn al-Muhallab, and around it are thickets and brushwood. 1
The siege
Al-Baladhuri relates that Yazid camped before it for seven months and set up a mangonel. Then a man showed them a path with leather ladders, and Jahm ibn Zahr climbed it and conquered it. He killed the captives in the Valley of Jurjan until the blood flowed. 1
