زندورد

In al-Baladhuri: a town of Kaskar — one copy reads Zandarud — which Khalid ibn al-Walid (may God be pleased with him) passed and opened on the march to al-Hira, opening Durna and her daughter-towns — formerly of Zandaward's people — by aman, then Hurmuzjird whose people he safe-conducted and opened.

Overview

Zandaward is a town of Kaskar; in one copy of the book it is written "Zandarud". Al-Baladhuri mentions that Khalid ibn al-Walid passed by it on his march to al-Hira. 1

In the conquests

According to al-Baladhuri, Khalid conquered Zandaward, and conquered Darna and its surroundings by safe conduct, as they had been subject to the people of Zandaward. Then he went on to Hurmuzjird, and its people gave him safe conduct, and he conquered it. 1
