بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ ١ وَوَضَعْنَا عَنكَ وِزْرَكَ ٢ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ ٣ وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ ٤ فَإِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا ٥ إِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا ٦ فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَٱنصَبْ ٧ وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَٱرْغَب ٨

Verse-by-verse translation
  1. 1 Have We not caused thy bosom to dilate,
  2. 2 And eased thee of the burden
  3. 3 Which weighed down thy back;
  4. 4 And exalted thy fame?
  5. 5 But lo! with hardship goeth ease,
  6. 6 Lo! with hardship goeth ease;
  7. 7 So when thou art relieved, still toil
  8. 8 And strive to please thy Lord.
