Overview
A book titled "Imamat Walad al-Abbas" (The Imamate of the Sons of al-Abbas), which al-Mas'udi ascribes to Amr ibn Bahr al-Jahiz. Al-Mas'udi says that in it al-Jahiz argued for the doctrine of the Rawandiyya, and mentioned the act of Abu Bakr concerning Fadak, and his dispute with Fatima over her inheritance from her father, and her appeal to her husband, her two sons and Umm Ayman as witnesses. 2
Al-Mas'udi's view of the book's purpose
Al-Mas'udi says that al-Jahiz did not write the book as a full survey of the arguments of the Rawandiyya, because that was not his doctrine, and that he did it for entertainment and as a display of wit. 2
This is al-Mas'udi's judgement alone; the museum has not verified it from another source.
