Overview

In 497 AH Sukman ibn Artuq and Jikarmish, lord of Mosul, agreed to fight the Franks, who were besieging Harran. They set aside the rivalry between them and marched on the Franks with seven thousand Turkmen. 1

The outcome

The Franks were defeated, and the count Baldwin, lord of Edessa, was taken captive. Then the men of Jikarmish gained the upper hand over taking him from the men of Sukman. The two allies parted and returned to the strife that lay between them. 1
