Muharram 602: Herat's mob rose in a great fitna between the two market quarters — the blacksmiths and the coppersmiths — with killings, looting and ruined houses; the city's amir was struck by a stone, mobbed, and hidden in the Firuzi palace for days until the fitna subsided 1.

Overview
In Muharram 602 AH the common people rose up in Herat. A strife broke out between the people of the two markets, the blacksmiths and the coppersmiths, according to Ibn al-Athir. 2
What happened
A group was killed, property was plundered, and houses were ruined. The governor of the city went out to restrain them, and one of the common people struck him with a stone. The mob gathered against him, and he was taken up to the Firuzi palace, where he hid for days until the strife calmed down, and then came out. 2
