زواج المأمون ببوران

In year 210 al-Ma'mun married Buran bint al-Hasan ibn Sahl; her trousseau ran to forty jewelled girdles and ten chests of pearls and rubies. Her father gave the commanders their khil'a robes, feasted them seventeen days, scattered slips bearing names of his estates among the generals and Abbasids — whoever drew one took the property — and strewn a trayful of gems before al-Ma'mun as she was presented to him 1.

Dowry and celebration
Her dowry reached forty jewelled bracelets and ten chests of pearls and rubies. Her father gave robes of honour to the commanders and spent on them for seventeen days. He wrote slips with the names of his estates and scattered them over the commanders and the Abbasids; whoever got a slip was given that estate. At the wedding he scattered a tray full of jewels before al-Ma'mun. 1
Tribute
Al-Ma'mun ordered the land tax of Fars and the districts of Ahwaz paid to al-Hasan ibn Sahl in the year of the wedding. Al-Mas'udi quotes a verse by Muhammad ibn Hazim al-Bahili on the occasion. 2
