Overview
The Nukaburd are a people, according to al-Mas'udi, descended from Yafith, whose lands adjoin the Maghrib. 2
According to al-Mas'udi
He describes them as people of great might, united under one king, whose seat of rule is a city called Yasat, through which a great river flows. He says that the Muslims neighbouring them from al-Andalus and the Maghrib overcame some of their cities, and that the Nukaburd drove them out after a long war, and that they were in their hands in the year 332 AH. 2
