Overview

The mare of Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas. Salma bint Hafsa lent her to Abu Mahjan al-Thaqafi on the night of al-Qadisiyya, and he rode her on his three charges. 2

The account

Abu Mahjan returned the mare to her tethering post after his charges and went back to his shackles. Al-Mas'udi notes that the accounts differ on how he rode her: with a saddle, or bareback. 2
