Summary

One of the twelve men who built the Dirar mosque, per Ibn Ishaq; his lineage: of Banu Dubay'a. 1

Ibn Ishaq named him in the list of those who built the mosque the Prophet ordered demolished on his return from Tabuk. 1 The name stands alone without lineage in the text (Bahzaj), checked against the page image. 1

Source notes and markers of doubt

  • Ibn Ishaq mentions nothing more of the man here than his lineage and his name among the twelve.
  • Describing the group as "hypocrites" in the book is not attributed here to this man in particular; the verse's descent "among them" is collective (p. 174).
