Summary
One of the twelve men who built the Dirar mosque, per Ibn Ishaq; his lineage: of Banu Dubay'a. 1
In the Dirar mosque
Ibn Ishaq named him in the list of those who built the mosque the Prophet ordered demolished on his return from Tabuk. 1 The editors' note points out that Abu Dharr gives the name here with ba and nun, and al-Daraqutni fixed it "Bijad" with ba; the reading is a matter of orthographic dispute (p. 174 note 1). 1
Source notes and markers of doubt
- Ibn Ishaq mentions nothing more of the man here than his lineage and his name among the twelve.
- Describing the group as "hypocrites" in the book is not attributed here to this man in particular; the verse's descent "among them" is collective (p. 174).
