بشير بن سعد الأنصاري

بشير بن سعد الأنصاري

c. 633 CE · c. 12 AH† †

† Hijri date derived by computation from the Gregorian/Julian date; it may differ from the transmitted date by a day or two.

In al-Baladhuri: Khalid ibn al-Walid sent him to Baniqya; Persian cavalry under Farrukhbandadh met him — he routed them and killed Farrukhbandadh, returning wounded, the wound relapsing at Ayn al-Tamr where he died — though it is said Khalid himself met Farrukhbandadh with Bashir beside him; he had also testified for Khuraym ibn Aws on Buqayla's daughter with Muhammad ibn Maslama.

In al-Baladhuri: he came out to Jarir ibn Abdallah al-Bajali for Baniqya's people, excused himself from fighting and offered peace — made on a thousand dirhams and a taylasan; Khalid wrote him a document and sent the taylasan to Abu Bakr who gifted it to al-Husayn ibn Ali.
