Overview

Hani ibn Urwa al-Muradi of Kufa, who gave protection to Muslim ibn Aqil in his house. The sources report that he was afterwards killed by a client of Ubayd Allah ibn Ziyad in the market. 1 2.

Sheltering Muslim ibn Aqil

Al-Mas'udi reports that Ibn Ziyad asked him about Muslim, and he denied knowing him, so Ibn Ziyad spoke harshly to him. Hani said that Ziyad, Ibn Ziyad's father, had a good claim upon him, and that he wished to repay it, and he offered that Muslim should depart to the people of Syria. Ibn Ziyad struck his face with a staff until his nose was broken. 3.

Shurayh bore witness to Hani's people that he was alive and had not been killed, and they went away. 3.
