Overview

Al-Hasan ibn Imran ibn Shahin, lord of the Bata'ih marshlands. When his father died in 369 AH after forty years in office, he succeeded him. 1

Ibn al-Athir reports that Adud al-Dawla then coveted the lands of al-Bata'ih, and sent troops under his vizier al-Mutahhar ibn Abd Allah, who blocked the channels and rivers flowing into the marshes. Al-Hasan broke some of those dams, and the water destroyed them; a battle on the water took place between him and al-Mutahhar, and the victory went to al-Hasan. 1
