Overview
Abu Hafs Umar ibn Bariq, an Andalusian physician of the fourth century AH. 1
He travelled to Kairouan and attached himself to its physician, Abu Ja'far Ahmad ibn Ibrahim ibn Abi Khalid, known as Ibn al-Jazzar. He then returned to al-Andalus with his teacher's book Zad al-Musafir wa Qut al-Hadir (Provision for the Traveller and Sustenance for the Settled), on medicine, treatment and simple drugs. 1
