Overview

Ibrahim ibn al-Mudabbir, a man of learning, letters and knowledge, according to al-Mas'udi. 2

His view of Abu Tammam

He held a poor opinion of Abu Tammam, and would swear that he did nothing well. When verses by an unnamed poet were read to him, he liked them. When he learned who had composed them, he reviled and cursed him. 2

Al-Mas'udi relates that Abu Amr al-Tusi commented on this with words about him. 2
