Overview
A man known as Ishaq al-Turk, who went to the lands beyond the Oxus and stayed there as a missionary for Abu Muslim. He claimed that Abu Muslim was imprisoned in the mountains of Rayy, and that he would come out at a time they knew. He was called "al-Turk" because he entered the lands of the Turks calling them with the letter of Abu Muslim. 2
Ibn al-Nadim relays the words of some people that he was an Alid, of the line of Yahya ibn Zayd ibn Ali, who went out fleeing from the Umayyads. 2
He also relays another account: that he was an unlettered man from the lands beyond the Oxus, who had a companion from among the jinn, who answered him after a night, and that he claimed to be a prophet sent by Zoroaster, and that Zoroaster is alive and has not died. 3
