Al-Hakam's hajib who aided Ibn Abi Amir's first coup, purged the palace's eight hundred Slav guards for him, and was then himself destroyed by Ghalib in the hajib's sequence of eliminations 1.

Overview
Ja'far ibn Uthman al-Mushafi, chamberlain of al-Hakam al-Mustansir. Al-Maqqari says that he helped Ibn Abi Amir kill al-Mughira on the night of the pledge to Hisham al-Mu'ayyad. Then Ibn Abi Amir moved him to expel the Slav servants from the palace, who numbered eight hundred or more. At the end of his career Ibn Abi Amir, with the help of Ghalib, brought him down and erased his trace from the state. 1
