Overview

Khubayb ibn Abdallah ibn al-Zubayr, a descendant of Abdallah ibn al-Zubayr. He narrated a weak hadith condemning the Umayyads, as al-Salabi mentions. 1

His ordeal

The book says that al-Walid ibn Abd al-Malik ordered his governor Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz to imprison him and flog him a hundred lashes. Umar flogged him and poured cold water over him, and he died. Umar regretted this, and released him from prison when his pain grew severe. 1
