Miharish ibn al-Majli al-Uqayli, an Arab amir of the Banu Uqayl, lord of the town of Anah on the Euphrates. 1
Sheltering the caliph
He sheltered the Abbasid caliph al-Qa'im bi-Amr Allah for a full year, after al-Basasiri and Qurayish ibn Badran drove him out of Baghdad in 450 AH. 1
Ibn al-Jawzi describes him as having "a good way", and says that he attended to the caliph's service himself until he returned honoured after al-Basasiri was killed. 1 2
It was there that al-Qa'im composed his well-known poem on Hadītha. 3
