Muhammad ibn Abdallah ibn Tahir, governor of Baghdad. Al-Suyuti says that al-Mu'tazz bestowed on him a robe of kingship, girded him with two swords, and then dismissed him. 2
Congratulation on a killing
Al-Mas'udi relates that he was congratulated on the killing of Yahya ibn Umar, and that Abu Hashim al-Ja'fari came in and objected to congratulating anyone for the killing of a man of the House of the Prophet ﷺ. Ibn Tahir then ordered the head taken down, when he saw how the people reacted. 3
