Overview
Muhammad ibn al-Husayn, called Zaydan, from the quarter of al-Karkh, from the staff of Ahmad ibn Abd al-Aziz ibn Abi Dulaf. Ibn al-Nadim says that he was among those who colluded with Abdallah ibn Maymun in his affair. He describes him as skilled in the science of the stars, and of a Shu'ubi inclination. He is credited with the view that soul, intellect, time, place and matter exist, and that the stars govern. 2
His prediction
Ibn al-Nadim relates from a trustworthy source that he claimed the astrological judgements indicated the transfer of the state to the Persians and their religion in the eighth conjunction. These are Ibn al-Nadim's descriptions alone, and judging them needs an additional source.
