Overview

Qubad, a king of the petty kingdoms (muluk al-tawa'if). al-Mas'udi reports that Tubba' Abu Karib met him in the land of Iraq, and Qubad was defeated. Tubba' then came to his kingdom and ruled Iraq, Syria, the Hijaz and much of the East. 2

al-Mas'udi points out that this Qubad is not Qubad ibn Firuz of the Sasanians. The chief of the petty kingdoms at that time was Judhar ibn Sabur. 2
