Overview
Umaym ibn Lawdh ibn Iram ibn Sam ibn Nuh. He travelled after Jurhum ibn Qahtan and settled in the land of Fars 2.
In al-Mas'udi
al-Mas'udi holds that the Persians descend from Kayumarth ibn Umaym ibn Lawdh. He transmits a verse by a Persian poet in Islam, saying that Umaym was their father 2.
This genealogy is transmitted from al-Mas'udi alone, and needs an additional source.
