Overview
Wasif al-Turki, one of the commanders of the Turkish soldiers in Samarra. He was killed in the year 253 AH 1.
In al-Mas'udi
al-Mas'udi reports that on the night of his killing he ordered the carpet that had been under al-Mutawakkil burned, on which were the image of Shiruyeh and the image of Yazid ibn al-Walid, after al-Muntasir had asked about it. He reports that he imprisoned a favourite woman when she sang a verse lamenting Ja'far 2.
His role in the events needs an additional source.
