Overview
Yusuf ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Fihri, the last governor of al-Andalus before Abd al-Rahman I. The army of al-Andalus agreed that the amirate should pass between the Mudar and the Yemenis, a year for each side. The Mudar presented him in the year 129 AH, and the matter was set right for him for a year at Cordoba 2.
The Yemeni turn
When the Yemenis came at their appointed time, trusting in their covenant, he attacked them at their place of encampment at Shaqanda, one of the villages of Cordoba, with the help of Sumayl ibn Hatim and the Qays. He massacred them and held power over al-Andalus until Abd al-Rahman I came 2.
