Overview
al-Shash: a land beyond the Oxus river, whose ruler was titled Tarbend. Qutayba conquered most of it and reached Asbijab. 1
Asbijab
The fortress of Asbijab was conquered in ancient times; then the Turks prevailed over it, with a group of the people of al-Shash alongside them. Then Nuh ibn Asad conquered it in the caliphate of al-Mu'tasim, and built around it a wall that enclosed its people's vineyards and fields. 1
