Overview

A place on the Red Sea, a mile from the city of al-Qulzum. al-Mas'udi reports that a king of the Romans dug a road there towards the Sea of the Romans, but it did not join, because of the height of al-Qulzum. On it is a great bridge over which whoever wishes to go on pilgrimage from Egypt crosses. 2
