Overview

Rome is a great city of many buildings. Al-Idrisi describes its wall as built of stone, and says that in it there is a river covered with copper slabs, a great church, and the king's palace called al-Babba. He counts it as one of the pillars of the Christians, and it lies about fifty miles from Bish. 2
