Saqifa of Banu Sa'ida
سقيفة بني ساعدة
The roofed hall of Banu Sa'ida where the Ansar met after the Prophet ﷺ's death and Abu Bakr was acclaimed; al-Samhudi argues it stood by the market of Medina at what is now Darb al-Suwayqa — in the Jirar Sa'd quarter where Sa'd ibn Ubada's sept lived — not at the Banu Sa'ida village by Bi'r Buda'a as al-Matari held, for Sa'd was among his own sept and the saqifa stood by his house 1.

Overview
The Saqifa of Banu Sa'ida is the shaded portico (saqifa) of Banu Sa'ida, where the Ansar gathered after the death of the Prophet, and where Abu Bakr was given the pledge (bay'a). It is the site of the Saqifa, lies in Medina, and is attributed to Banu Sa'ida. 2
Its location
Al-Samhudi considers it likely that it was beside the market of Medina, at what is known as Darb al-Suwayqa, in the quarter of Jarar Sa'd, the house of the kin of Sa'd ibn Ubada. He holds that it was not in the village of Banu Sa'ida by the well of Bud'a, as al-Mutri thought, because Sa'd was with his kin and the saqifa was at his house. 2
The saqifa is attested as a meeting place in the narration of Umar in al-Bukhari. 3
