الإتقان في علوم القرآن
Al-Suyuti's Itqan — 'the likeliest and most profitable of his works': he built on al-Zarkashi's Burhan, expanding to eighty types of Quranic science, and made it the preface to his intended great tafsir Majma' al-Bahrayn 1.

Overview
As Hajji Khalifa relates it
Hajji Khalifa says it is among al-Suyuti's most useful and most nearly complete works. Al-Suyuti noted the classification of his teacher al-Kafiyaji and found it too brief, and he judged al-Balqini's "Mawaqi al-Ulum" insufficient. Then, after composing his "Al-Tahbir", he found al-Zarkashi's "Al-Burhan" to be a comprehensive book, so he resumed the work and added to it until it reached eighty kinds. He made it an introduction to his large commentary on the Qur'an, which he began and called "Majma al-Bahrayn". For most of the kinds there are separate works as well. 1
