A clan of Kinana at al-Kudayd against whom the Prophet ﷺ sent Ghalib ibn Abdullah al-Laythi (may God be pleased with him); the detachment raided them before dawn, killed and drove off the herds, as Jundab ibn Makith relates.

Overview

A branch of Kinana who lived at al-Kadid. Ibn Ishaq knows them only through the expedition of Ghalib ibn Abd Allah against them: the Muslims raided them at the first light of dawn, killing those they killed and driving off the camels, and the people pursued them, but the flood of the Qadid valley came between them. 1 2

  • Their attribution to Kinana comes from the editors' vocalisation, not from Ibn Ishaq's text, so it needs a second source (needs_source). 1
