al-Fuja'a Bujayr ibn Iyas al-Sulami

الفجاءة بجير بن إياس السلمي

A Sulami; he came to Abu Bakr saying 'mount me and strengthen me to fight the apostates', so he was mounted and armed — then went out waylaying people, killing Muslims and apostates alike and raising a force; Abu Bakr wrote to Turayfa ibn Hajiza, brother of Mam'un ibn Hajiza, ordering him to fight him, and he fought, captured and sent him to Abu Bakr, who ordered him burned near the musalla — others say Abu Bakr wrote to Ma'n, who sent his brother Turayfa to capture him; this was among Abu Bakr's regrets: 'I wish that the day al-Fuja'a was brought to me I had killed him and not burned him'.

الفجاءة، واسمه بجير بن إياس بن عبد الله السلمي. 1

خبره عند البلاذري

أتى أبا بكر وطلب أن يحمله ويقويه ليقاتل المرتدين. فحمله وأعطاه سلاحاً. 1

ثم خرج يعترض الناس، فقتل مسلمين ومرتدين وجمع جمعاً. فكتب أبو بكر إلى طريفة بن حاجزة يأمره بقتاله، فأسره وبعث به إليه. 1

أمر أبو بكر بإحراقه في ناحية المصلى. وفي رواية أخرى: كتب أبو بكر إلى معن، فوجه إليه طريفة أخاه فأسره. 1

ويذكر البلاذري أن أبا بكر ندم على ذلك، وقال إنه يود لو قتله ولم يحرقه. 1

يتصل خبره بـحروب الردة. التاريخ المذكور في بيانات المتحف سنة 11هـ تقريباً، وهو تحويل مشتق.

Amr ibn Ma'dikarib's apostasy after the Prophet's death

Amr ibn Ma'dikarib stayed among Banu Zubayd under Farwa ibn Musayk; when the Prophet died he apostatised and said two verses disparaging Farwa's rule, calling him Abu Umayr. He was later captured in the ridda and returned to Islam, as Ibn Hajar reports from Sayf.
