Overview

Husayn ibn Yahya al-Ansari, governor of Saragossa. He took part in the Pact of Paderborn. 2

The conspiracy

In 157 AH he conspired with Sulayman ibn Yaqzan al-A'rabi, governor of Barcelona and Girona, and Abd al-Rahman ibn Habib al-Saqlabi, to depose Abd al-Rahman al-Dakhil. Taqqush reports that the caliph al-Mahdi encouraged them, and he agreed to the plan of making contact with Charlemagne. 2

The return

When the Carolingian armies gathered before Saragossa, he refused to carry on with the conspiracy, and closed the city gates against the Carolingian forces. Taqqush holds that the conspirators then realised how grave their error was. 2
