Overview

Musa ibn Ja'far ibn Muhammad. Al-Mas'udi relates that he was held prisoner by al-Rashid, and that al-Rashid saw in a dream an Abyssinian with a spear threatening him if he did not release Musa. He sent to Abdallah ibn Malik al-Khuza'i at a time when he was not seeking him, and ordered him to release him. 1

Al-Mas'udi says that he was seized in Baghdad, poisoned, in 186 AH, at the age of fifty-four. 2

The two reports are attributed by al-Mas'udi to transmission, and they have not been checked in the data, so they need an additional source.
