Overview

Atabeg Izz al-Din Sa'd ibn Dakla al-Salghuri, lord of Shiraz and Fars. Ibn al-Athir mentions him in the account of Qutb al-Din Sanjar, a mamluk of the Caliph, who rebelled in Khuzistan and then took refuge with him 2.

What the source records

Sa'd honoured Qutb al-Din Sanjar and stood in his defence. When the Caliph's army resolved to march on Shiraz, he interceded on Sanjar's behalf and asked for a pledge that he would not be harmed. He then handed Sanjar over, together with his property and his family, to the Caliph's forces 2.
