Overview

Tarif al-Subkari, an Abbasid commander. He was among the sultan's companions with al-Hajjaj in the year 312 AH, and Abu Tahir al-Qarmati captured him on the day of Kufa 2.

al-Qahir billah then imprisoned him in a pit. When al-Qahir was deposed in the year 322 AH, they opened his place, took him out, and imprisoned al-Qahir in his stead 3.

Ibn al-Athir reports that al-Qahir sent him to Mu'nis, calling him to the palace, and that Mu'nis was afterwards seized 4.

The details of the dialogue attributed to him need an additional source.
