Overview

Wabar ibn Umaym, of the extinct original Arabs, as al-Mas'udi mentions in Muruj al-Dhahab 2.

The report

al-Mas'udi traces his lineage to Ludh ibn Iram ibn Sam ibn Nuh. He says that he set out with his child and those who followed him, and settled in a land called Wabar, which is known as the sands of Ajj. He transmits that a vengeance befell them and they perished because of their insolence on the earth 2.

This report comes from al-Mas'udi alone in this entry, and needs an additional source.
