Overview

"Al-Tamhid lima fil-Muwatta min al-Ma'ani wal-Asanid" (The Preparation on the Meanings and Chains of Transmission in the Muwatta), a book by Ibn Abd al-Barr al-Qurtubi on the Muwatta. He arranged it by the names of Malik's teachers in alphabetical order. It runs to seventy volumes. 2

Ibn Khallikan says that no one had preceded him with a book like it. He quotes Ibn Hazm as saying that he knows of no one like him in discussing the jurisprudence of hadith, so how could anyone be better than him. 2
