Overview
The sources report that the king of Hungary, Vladislaus II, wanted to rid himself of the undertakings of his predecessors to the Ottoman sultans, and he killed the envoy of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent who demanded from him the annual tribute. Suleiman responded with a great campaign. 2
The outcome
The Ottomans won a great victory at Mohacs in 1526 CE, and Suleiman entered Buda on 11 September of the same year. Hungarian resistance continued, and his armies reached the walls of Vienna in 1529 CE. 2
