Overview

The Prophet sent Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas in Dhu al-Qa'da of the 1st year AH with twenty riders, to intercept a Quraysh caravan. He instructed him not to go beyond al-Kharrar, which is near al-Juhfa 1.

They travelled on foot by night and hid by day, and found that the caravan had passed the day before 1.

The same event is described as the expedition of al-Kharrar.
