Overview

In Rabi' al-Awwal of the 2nd year AH, the Prophet set out with seventy men to pursue Kurz ibn Jabir al-Fihri (may God be pleased with him), who had raided the pastures of Medina. He reached the valley of Safwan on the Badr side, but did not overtake him, and returned without fighting 1.

He appointed Zayd ibn Haritha as his deputy 1.

The same event is described as the expedition of Safwan.
