Overview
Abu Ghubshan al-Khuza'i: agent for Hubba bint Hulayl over the Ka'ba's custodianship, and the man who sold it to Qusayy for a skin of wine in one account of the taking of Mecca.
Life
In al-Mubarakpuri's third account, Hulayl gave his daughter Hubba the guardianship of the House and made Abu Ghubshan her agent, who held the custodianship on her behalf; when Hulayl died, Qusayy bought the House's guardianship from him for a skin of wine. Khuza'a did not accept this sale and tried to stop Qusayy — and that was among the preludes to the war 1.
For young visitors
Abu Ghubshan was a man who sold the Ka'ba's key for a water-skin of wine — a sale his tribe refused to accept, and war broke out because of it.
